Experience

Art has inspired me throughout life and I've painted since I was in college -- when I painted ocean scenes in exchange for a surfboard shaping, or glassing job. I began selling wild, large, three-dimensional female figurative work in the late 80s in galleries in L.A and Laguna Beach. Each painting was constructed with multiple picture planes and angles; cubism in it’s true form. Later, inspired and distracted by German abstract expressionists, I dove into large full blown abstract painting for more than a dozen years. My ocean-scape phase began in the early 2000s, exploring abstract views of underwater kelp bed scenes. From there I moved to the interaction of surfers in a wave and gradually landed on what you see here – hyper focused detail of water; a form of abstract art in itself.

my paintings can be Hung or framed

Oak Support Bar

Some of the paintings in this series have been hung freely against a wall from a solid oak support bar (shown here). The intent is to allow the canvas to mimic the natural movement of water. However, all of my canvases can be mounted on stretcher bars and or framed, if you prefer.
